HANDMADE JAPANESE RODS, EVERY SERIES IN STOCK
Yamaga Blanks
Yamaga Blanks roll their own blanks and build every rod in their own factory in Kumamoto, Japan. That's the whole point of the brand: a rod tuned to a job rather than a price point, with a published bend curve for every model so you can compare power before you buy. Since 2008 they've built one of the most respected light game rods in the world in the BlueCurrent, and the same factory now builds rods for GTs.
Compleat Angler Nedlands holds the biggest Yamaga Blanks range in Australia, and every rod carries a two-year international warranty through us as an authorised dealer. Rods are grouped below by the type of fishing they're built for.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which Yamaga Blanks rod for bream and whiting in the Swan River?
The BlueCurrent series. BlueCurrent III is the value option, TZ Nano the flagship with Torzite guides, and the new Wizy is a four-piece travel version. The 78 models are tuned specifically for black bream fished on the bottom.
Which Yamaga rod for jigging samsonfish and dhufish off Rottnest?
Galahad. The last digit of the model number is the maximum PE class, so a Galahad 633 is a PE3 rod. Galahad Slow is the slow pitch version, and Galahad Electric is built for the loads an electric reel puts on a blank.
What's the difference between BlueSniper Shore Casting and Boat Casting?
Shore Casting is the rock and beach series, 9'6" to 10'6" for casting jigs and plugs at salmon, samsonfish and tuna from the stones. Boat Casting is shorter and comes in three modes: FLX for flexibility, RGD for sharp casting, and TRQ for torque on kings and GTs that head for the rocks.
Does Yamaga Blanks sell bare blanks?
No. Despite the name, Yamaga Blanks sells finished rods only. The name refers to the fact that they roll their own blanks in-house rather than buying them from another factory.
Is there a warranty on Yamaga Blanks rods?
Yes. Rods bought through an authorised dealer like Compleat Angler Nedlands carry a two-year international warranty. Keep your receipt and bring the rod back to us for any claim.
