What's the difference between 4-strand and 8-strand braid?
8-strand is smoother, rounder, casts further — ideal for spinning reels and lure fishing. 4-strand is tougher, more abrasion-resistant, and cheaper — better for bottom fishing and rough conditions.
What colour braid should I use?
Colour matters more to the angler than fish — you're using a leader. High-vis (chartreuse, pink) helps detect bites. Without a leader, darker colours are less visible to fish.
How much braid do I need?
Fill your spool to within 1-2mm of the lip. Inshore reels need 150-200m, boat reels 200-300m, deep-water 300-600m. We offer in-store spooling and can calculate exactly.
Do you offer line spooling?
Yes! Bring your reel in and we'll spool it with your chosen braid at no extra charge when you purchase line from us. Proper tensioned spooling ensures perfect line lay.
