A lead head dressed with natural deer hair or synthetic fibres that pulse in water. Traditional but incredibly effective for bottom-dwelling reef species.
How to fish a buckaboo?
Lift-and-drop or slow hop along the bottom. Also effective slow-trolled over reef. Hair dressing provides action even stationary in current. Add bait strip for extra attraction.
What size lead head?
Match to depth and current. 1/4oz estuary, 1/2-1oz for 10-20m boats, heavier for deep water. Maintain bottom contact without sitting lifeless.
