What fly line for Perth saltwater?

A weight-forward floating line (tropical formulation for warm water) matched to your rod weight covers 80% of situations. Rio's saltwater-specific lines are designed for WA conditions.

How often should I replace fly line?

With regular use, every 1-2 seasons. Clean your line after each session (or at least regularly) to extend its life. Cracked coating, reduced floating, or difficulty casting signal it's time to replace.

What's the difference between line weights?

Heavier lines (higher number) cast bigger flies and handle wind better. Lighter lines are more delicate. Match line weight to rod weight for proper loading and casting.

Do I need sinking fly line?

A floating line handles most situations. Add an intermediate for windy days or when fish are holding deeper. Full sinking lines are specialist tools for deep water or fast-moving currents.
