When do I need fishing pants?
Cooler months (May-September in Perth), early morning sessions before it warms up, and when maximum sun protection is needed. Also useful for bush/rock fishing where leg protection matters.
What material for fishing pants?
Lightweight nylon or polyester blends that dry quickly, stretch for movement, and provide UPF50+ protection. Avoid heavy cotton that stays wet and doesn't protect from UV.
Convertible pants (zip-off legs)?
