What transducer type is best?
Through-hull provides best performance (cleanest signal). Transom-mount is easiest to install. In-hull requires no holes but sacrifices some performance. Through-hull is recommended for serious fishing.
Do I need to match transducer to sounder?
Yes — transducers must be compatible with your specific sounder unit. Different units use different frequencies and connector types. Bring your sounder model details and we'll find the right match.
Airmar vs standard transducers?
Airmar makes premium transducers with superior build quality, wider beam angles, and better target definition. They cost more but provide noticeably better performance than standard included transducers.
Can I install a transducer myself?
Transom-mount: usually DIY-friendly. Through-hull: requires drilling your hull (serious commitment, best done professionally). We can recommend marine electricians for installation.
