When is marlin season off Perth?
Blue marlin December-April (peak Feb-March). Striped marlin March-June. Continental Shelf and Perth Canyon are prime grounds. Water temperature dictates timing.
What gear to get started in game fishing?
Heavy overhead reels (50-80lb class), matched rods, game leader, skirted lures or rigged baits, outrigger clips, fighting chair or gimbal. Significant investment — we'll help plan within budget.
Do you stock skirted trolling lures?
Yes — Bonze, Pakula, C&H, Angler Tackle. Various head shapes and sizes from 6" tuna lures to 14"+ marlin lures for every spread position.
What's a dredge?
A hookless teaser — frame of artificial baitfish simulating a fleeing bait school to attract game fish. Highly effective but not essential for starting. Works particularly well for raising marlin.
