What size assist hook?
Match to jig size: micro jigs (5-30g) use size 1-1/0. Medium (60-150g): 2/0-4/0. Heavy (200g+): 5/0-7/0. Hook should be proportional.
Single or twin assists?
Single on top for speed jigging. Twin (one each side) for slow-pitch where bites come from any angle. Some use assist top + stinger bottom.
How to attach?
Connect via solid ring at jig head. Cord loops through or attaches to split/solid ring system. Never attach directly to split ring — cord can jam.
When to replace?
When point is dull, cord frayed, or after hard-fighting fish. Inspect before every trip. Sharp fresh assists = more fish landed.
