MC Works
MC Works are hand-built in Kitakyushu, Japan, by a small team who fish the rocks and offshore as hard as anyone and build rods for the exact fish they chase. The company started in custom reel parts in 1995, and the BB Power Handle has been made essentially unchanged for over 25 years. The rods grew from there: Raging Bull for the rock-shore expedition crew, Explosion for boat-based GT and kingfish popping, Slow Hand and Southern Blue for tuna, Northern Blue for jigging.

What is the MC Works Raging Bull built for?
The Raging Bull is the rock-shore casting series, built for land-based kingfish, amberjack, GTs and yellowfin. The model code tells you the length, taper and power: RB100XF-1 is a 10-foot fast-taper rod rated PE4–5. Volcanic Island Special models are for remote rock expeditions; Trident models are three-piece travel versions.
What's the difference between MC Works Explosion and Explosion Full Contact?
Both are boat-based popping rods for GTs and big kingfish. The Explosion is the classic series. Full Contact was launched in 2017 with re-engineered carbon for higher breaking strength in close-quarter fights, and comes in models from PE3–5 up to PE8–12.
Which MC Works rod for tuna?
The Slow Hand All That Tuna series, built for bluefin and yellowfin. TSX models are light and lift-focused; TSZ models are torque-focused with large guides for heavy line. The Southern Blue is the lighter tuna casting option, and the Gravity Multi Range Roader is a boat casting rod for big kings and bluefin.
Does MC Works make jigging rods?
Yes. The Northern Blue Evolution is the jigging series, in PE1.5–3 up to PE3–5 models. The Magic Trigger is a slow-inviting, fast-lifting jig rod. Both pair with the BB Power Handle if you want to upgrade your reel's crank.
Can I customise an MC Works rod?
