Outback Breamer Baits Puffin Crank 36mm
The Puffin Crank is a 36mm hard-bodied crankbait engineered for targeting larger species. Its aggressive square-cut diving lip reaches depths to 2.2m while generating maximum bottom disturbance in sand and mud. The bib-suspend design positions the lure with its head down and tail up when resting on the bottom, ensuring full hook exposure and reducing weed pickup and snags. Built tough for demanding freshwater and saltwater conditions.
The lure features three free range rattle beads which are noisy in the hand. However this bait was designed to be fished ultra slow - crawling across the bottom and still being able to be heard.
The ideal scenario to fish this bait is when the winds up, tides pumping, the water is stirred up or the rivers running tannin. The fish will come to you with its bold presence and unfamiliar rattle.
Great early techniques found for fishing in shallow water - hold a high rod tip and very slowly retrieve with the rod - add a short sharp rip, wind up the slack and repeat (similar to a drop shot drag)
Replacement standard hardware are Decoy YS25 size 12 hooks (for suspending) size 14 (for slow float). Split rings are Decoy size 1 light game.
