Hard lumo beads offer more than a handy spacer for positioning hooks in skirted trolling lures. Add them to bottom rigs when deep dropping beyond 100 metres for species such as blue-eye trevalla, hapuku, bass groper and bar cod. Their glow can help make baits more visible in dark water, where luminescence is common among prey species.

They’re also worth trying above hooks on droppers while drift fishing inshore reefs for snapper, morwong, jewfish, teraglin and pearl perch. A touch of glow may help draw attention to your bait.
