Do I need waders for fishing in Perth?
For most Perth fishing, no. But if you fly fish in the south-west rivers, wade flats for bream, or fish estuaries where deeper wading accesses better spots, waders extend your range significantly.
Simms waders — are they worth the price?
If you wade regularly, absolutely. Simms breathable waders are comfortable in warm weather (unlike neoprene), incredibly durable, and have excellent warranty support. They last years with proper care.
What wading boots do I need?
Felt soles for slippery river rocks (best grip on algae). Rubber soles for general use and areas where felt is restricted. Simms boots are comfortable, supportive, and drain quickly.
How do I care for breathable waders?
Hang to dry after each use (inside out). Never machine wash with detergent — use specialist cleaner. Store hanging, not folded. Repair small punctures with wader repair cement immediately.
