There are many times when predator fish are not keen to come up to hit a surface lure. At the beginning of the season when the water is colder on the surface the fish will respond better to a sub surface lure. Therefore the Mister Joe has been designed to work from just under the surface to several meters down. As it is a slowly sinking lure, it can swim a few meters deep if you wait a little before starting working it. On the other hand it will swim just under the surface if you work it as soon as it hits the water. This is a great lure in choppy conditions and with its slim profile and good density, the Mister Joe casts like a dream.
