What size squid jig for Perth?
2.5-3.0 most versatile. Use 2.0-2.5 in shallow or for smaller squid, 3.5-4.0 for big calamari in deeper water or current.
Best colour squid jig?
Changes daily! Natural prawn colours (brown, orange, red) in clear water/daylight. Bright (pink, chartreuse) and UV in low light/murky. Carry variety and rotate.
Cheap vs expensive squid jigs?

How to work a squid jig?
Cast, sink near bottom, 2-3 sharp upward rod flicks to dart it up, let sink on semi-tight line. Watch for sideways movement. Set hook with gentle sweep, not hard strike.
