What fish finder for my boat?

Small tinny on metro reefs: 7-9" Lowrance or Simrad with CHIRP. Serious offshore: 10-16" with side-scan and charting. Budget and boat size guide the decision — come in for advice.

Lowrance vs Simrad?

Both made by Navico with similar technology. Lowrance targets recreational fishing (user-friendly). Simrad targets serious/commercial (advanced networking, autopilot). Both excellent.

Do I need separate GPS?

Modern sounders have built-in GPS and charts. A handheld backup is useful for safety offshore. GME EPIRBs and PLBs are essential safety devices for offshore boats.

What transducer?

Must match your sounder unit. Through-hull best performance; transom-mount easier install. CHIRP transducers superior to traditional. Airmar makes premium options. We advise on best match.
